THE BAN PENINSULA

The Ban Peninsula is that arm off to the southwest of the continent. It has a town called Ubans where it joins the rest of the continent.

The entire peninsula is covered in dense jungle with small villages scattered throughout.

It used to be home to the Ban civilization but they were wiped out in The Destruction and most of their cities were left in ruins that the jungles have overtaken. There used to be five major Ban cities: Abans, Ebans, Ibans, Obans, and Ubans.

The only remaining Ban city is Ubans. Ironically, it was considered the least of the Ban cities prior to The Destruction. It was essentially an overgrown waystation on the Ban Trade Road that made its way through the jungle, connecting all the major Ban cities.

The main Ban trade city was Obans but the jungle reclaimed it centuries ago and nobody even knows where it is anymore.

There are rumors that the legendary capital of the Ban (Yybans) is hidden in the impenetrable jungles of the large island off the coast of Kaltash but the flora and fauna of that island are deadly so nobody’s found it.

THE BANURANS

The Banfolk, or Banurans as they call themselves, that live on the Ban Peninsula are a frog-like species of sentient, humanoids. Technically, they’re a group of Anurans, a species type that was much more common before the Destruction and which, in the modern era, can mostly be found inhabiting the many islands of Shaungia. Or, of course, here in the Ban Peninsula.

The Banurans include a number of subspecies that range greatly in terms of physicality and culture.
